Field data capture provides a true
representation of the resources owned or maintained
by an organization. Physically verifying existing resources
in the field guarantees the most up-to-date graphic information
possible. Integrating the use of GPS technology, laser range
finders, and ASI’s specialized field inventory software

ASI has also gone to great lengths
to develop new technologies to make the data capture

the industry-leading OUTFIELD field data entry software application,
for example, to give field inventory personnel the tools they
need to enter and convert facility and map data at its source.
This software incorporates rules which ensure that required
data associated with features such as poles, conductors and
transformers are recorded completely and correctly. OUTFIELD
also supports the interface of GPS, facilitating the recording
of facility location coordinates. It provides the added benefits
of reducing re-verification requirements, improving quality
by capturing the data at the source, eliminating paperwork
and increasing field crew productivity during the field inventory
