Quality control is built
into ASI’s project management, process outsourcing
and data maintenance service programs, but it is always necessary
to check and document that acceptable quality limits are met
on a consistent basis. As part of its data services practice,
ASI strives to integrate findings from process QA tests back
into the overall process workflow following the principles
of total quality management.
Total quality management is
rooted in the belief that continuous process improvements,
designed and built based on measurable process statistics,
eventually eliminate the sources of errors, and thus eliminate
the need to correct them. ASI practices total quality management
and implements continuous process improvements on every data
services project or outsourcing program that it undertakes.
These process improvements typically result in significant
cost savings through profound increases in productivity, efficiency
and quality.
ASI designs tests to check
either complete datasets or randomly sampled populations of
datasets. ASI structures its customized test programs based
on process requirements and a needs analysis, and the nature
of the tests, the size of the samples and the analysis of
the results will meet specific process needs and project goals.
Often a process will reach a point where additional improvements
cannot be cost justified based on their potential return.
As processes reach this mature stage, the quality assurance
systems will function to monitor the process and its various
outputs to ensure that unforeseen issues with source data
or software systems do not derail the process and create quality
issues.
